News Delhi:

The center closed all bank accounts of the Missionaries of Charity, founded by Mother Teresa. According to the source, the Center has informed that the financial transactions of all the accounts have been stopped due to the investigation. However, Mother House in Kolkata was not immediately available for comment. The Missionaries of Charity has repeatedly said, “We will not comment on this.” However, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has already tweeted and criticized the Centre’s move.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. An FIR has also been lodged against the Missionaries of Charity in Modi’s state on charges of proselytizing. Apart from proselytizing, the organization also has a home in Vadodara, Gujarat, which is accused of harming Hindu sentiments. The home in Vadodara has also been accused of forcibly marrying a young woman from Punjab to a Christian man. However, all the allegations were denied by the organization. They claim that no one was forcibly converted in that home. When contacted at the Mother House in Kolkata after the allegations surfaced, officials said they did not want to comment.

Local police commissioner Samsher Singh said a separate investigation was underway into the allegations. According to Mayank Trivedi, the district’s social security officer, the home has been hit with Hindu sentiments and young girls at the home have been tempted to convert to Christianity. Mayank has lodged a complaint with the Makarpura police station under the Gujarat Religious Freedom Act, 2003. According to him, he went to the home with the chairman of the district child welfare committee on December 9. In the FIR, he said, he saw girls at home being forcibly taught Christian religious texts, told to wear a cross around their necks and even asked to participate in Christian prayers. Mayank further complained that Hindu girls were also allowed to eat non-vegetarian food in the home. According to him, in this way, the Missionaries of Charity authorities are forcibly taking the girls of the home to the path of conversion. Mayank said that between February and December this year, the organization regularly attacked the sentiments of Hindus. Police have launched an investigation into Mayank’s allegations.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Incidentally, Mother Teresa established the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta in 1950. Charity is active in Kolkata as well as in many places in India and abroad. The company has 243 homes in India. While the head office in Kolkata did not want to comment on the official bank account closure, a member of the organization said, “We are involved in a lot of service work across the country and abroad. Thousands of sick people are served. But as a result, there will be problems with the supply of medicines to those patients. “

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed surprise at the news of Missionaries of Charity coming to light. “I am surprised to hear that the central government has closed all the bank accounts of Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity during the Christmas festivities,” she wrote on Twitter. Workers are not getting food and medicine. Even if the law is above all, it is not right to stop humanitarian activities. ‘

But Government of India refused any foul play, and the statement issued by MoHA is clear it is Mother House who requested to freeze the accounts held at SBI.

MHA did not freeze bank accounts of Missionaries of Charity (MoC)

State Bank of India informed that Missionaries of Charity itself sent a request to SBI to freeze its accounts

Renewal application under FCRA for renewal of FCRA registration refused due to adverse inputs

No request / revision application has been received from Missionaries of Charity for review of refusal of renewal

If a holy organization is dragged in to cheap politics is really unfortunate seen.
