Mohammedan Sporting Club – Youth Development Programme

Mohammedan Sporting Club Youth Development Programme has been re-named as ” Mohammedan Sporting Club Football Academy* from Black Panthers Football School.

The idea behind renaming the Youth Development Program is to establish the parental relationship with the mother’s organization. A mother with a very rich legacy, a mother which has contributed immensely to Indan Football, a mother which played a stellar role in adding to the passion of native youths in India’s freedom struggle. The Club played a lead role in up-staging the British Empire team’s dominance in football by being the 1st Native team to win the Calcutta Football League in 1934 & winning it five times in a row till 1938. It was also the 1st Native team to win the world’s 3rd oldest Football Tournament the Durand Cup, in 1940.

The aim of renaming is to ” Remodel the YDP program, keeping in sync with the developments taking place in the footballing world.

Work has been initiated in terms of the availability of full training types of equipment, infrastructure. Licensed Coaches are providing proper training both on & off the pitch as per the prescribed Curriculum.

Parallelly Age Group Talent Hunt, as well as the Scouting exercise, is being conducted. In House, Age Group matches are arranged regularly & talented players are filtered out & Super age group teams are being made which is being nurtured under a dedicated coach. These age group teams will be the supply line to the Academy’s main Age Group teams which will consist also of players picked up from Talent Hunt as well as from Scouting process.

Clubs Hony YDP Chairman Khaled Shadan along with Clubs Hony President Mr Amiruddin, Hony Senior Vice President Mr Qamaruddin, Hony Secretary Mr Danish Iqbal & Hony Football Secretary Dibyendu Biswas reiterated keeping in mind the Vision & mission, their goal is to create an in house supply line which will Continuously feed Mohammedan Sporting Club as well as Bengal & Indian Football with Quality Players for years to come.

All feel in coming 2-5 years the U-22 supply line will be largely in house from Mohammedan Sporting Club Football Academy itself and they would not have to look much outside for this age group.

We have initiated the process on trial this very year itself, Two of our YDP players Sanjib Ghosh & William Lalgoulien have been selected to represent the main team.

Similarly Two U-18 Players Altamash Noor & Anamul Haque represented Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Inaugural AIFF Hero Futsal Tournament in Delhi where the team stood runners up.
