MAKAUT, WB Among Top 10 Technology Schools in Employability Index
Kolkata, 3rd November 2021: A new feather in the cap of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB.
Cyber Media Research (CMR) in association with Dataquest (DQ), the country’s oldest and most respected IT-ITeS industry journal conducts a survey amongst various engineering colleges of India. The aim of this study is to determine the Top Technology Schools (offering B.E., B.Tech. or similar undergraduate degree-level technical courses) in the country and rank them on a list of carefully selected parameters. According to DQ-CMR Employability Index 2021, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB features in the 8th position. No other institute from the state of West Bengal has achieved this credit.
The DQ-CMR Top T-School Survey is a highly respected and pioneering barometer on the state of technical education in India. The T-School rankings, based on DQ’s Digital Marketing Framework PACE (Promote-Analyze-Convert-Engage) are much sought-after by the industry. It offers deep insights at a national level, as well as regional level, on the talent pool and where to hunt for the best talent.
The Employability Index gives a true picture of the technical education landscape in India and unravels key dynamics in terms of the skills the Tech Schools are creating for the IT industry and their standing in terms of academic excellence, placements, infrastructure etc.
Dataquest, A Cyber media publication has been pioneer in tech-media since 1982. It is the first tech media to advocate the enhancement of technology adoption in the field of higher education. Thereby it recognizes the overall ranking of engineering colleges since 2005.
About MAKAUT: The University came into operation formally with the assumption of the office of the first Vice Chancellor on January 15, 2001 as a sequel to the promulgation of THE WEST BENGAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY ACT, 2001, under West Bengal Act XV of 2000 passed by the West Bengal Legislature. The University started its academic programme, from July 16, 2001 following a Notification from the Department of Higher Education; Government of West Bengal dated June 15, 2001 through the affiliation of Engineering and Management Institutions / Colleges and has entered the eighteen years of its functioning. The University is included in Section 2F and also in Section 12B of UGC and recipient of UGC Grant. The University wants to grow nurturing innovative / novel ideas that would touch all segments of the society especially the marginalized ones. We look at technology from a broad social perspective and are organizing postgraduate courses in basic and applied sciences. The University has introduced new courses in emerging areas to develop, enhance and higher education.
