DAG Announces Its Second Fundraiser Sale Of 51 Works From Its Collection To Raise Critical Funds For COVID-19 Relief Efforts Across India

100% PROCEEDS UPTO INR 1 CRORE TO BENEFIT

SOOD CHARITY FOUNDATION | KHALSA AID INDIA | HEMKUNT FOUNDATION

In view of the continuing pandemic, DAG announces its second fundraiser sale of 51 works from its collection to raise critical funds to benefit charity institutions working towards COVID-19 relief across communities in India. Opening for a week on 8th May 2021, the fundraiser sale valued at INR 1 crore aims to donate 100% sale proceeds to be shared equally between Sood Charity Foundation, Hemkunt Foundation and Khalsa Aid India in support of their on-ground relief efforts to provide succour to those impacted hardest by COVID-19.

To help make this fundraiser a success, DAG has significantly reduced the price of the selected artworks, making them attractive for buyers who will have the additional satisfaction of seeing the proceeds from their purchase being diverted to help those impacted and support the relief initiatives in this critical hour.

“We believe in the healing power of art. Even more, we believe in the power of giving. Through this endeavour, we want to make a difference to the hugely important work undertaken by our charity partners. We urge you to support this the Hope for Humanity Fundraiser Sale, thereby supporting the nation in its greatest hour of need. Every rupee donated will find its way to saving lives and livelihoods,” notes Mr. Ashish Anand, CEO and MD at DAG.

Sood Charity Foundation, an NGO founded by actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood, serves the masses across the country through its humanitarian endeavours. Relentlessly working towards making healthcare provisions for COVID-19 affected patients across the nation, the foundation has been running diverse initiatives that include free doctor consultations, free tests, and arranging and distributing oxygen cylinders to help save lives.

Khalsa Aid India, a humanitarian organisation, is actively engaged in supporting COVID-19 patients with oxygen concentrators around the Delhi NCR region and has effectively distributed 350+ concentrators to needy patients at their doorstep in the national capital region so far. It is working towards procuring 5,000 concentrators to expand its outreach to other critically affected areas as well.

Hemkunt Foundation, founded in 2010, has saved more than 4,000+ lives during the second wave of the pandemic. It is now seeking funds to set up an O2 centre with 300 beds and 100 micro oxygen centres with five concentrators at each centre, and import 2,700 oxygen concentrators in continuation of its community welfare work in the face of the pandemic.

This is not the first time DAG has donated the entire proceeds of its fundraising sales or auctions to charity. In 2020, DAG donated INR 1.8 crore and supported different charities to benefit their COVID-19 relief initiatives. In December 2018, it conducted a charity auction in Mumbai to support the commendable work done by The Taj Public Welfare Trust for which it raised Rs 2.54 crore. Earlier, the same year, it had supported the Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund by donating works for a fundraiser at NGMA, New Delhi, to mitigate the ravages of flood in the state.
