CEE AMPAI and AMPAI Masters’ Entrance Exam to be scheduled on 18th October 2020

Common Entrance Examination will be conducted by AMPAI, for admission of certain courses through minority quota in five colleges of JIS University

Kolkata, 8 October 2020: Five colleges under JIS Group will conduct the entrance exam of CEE AMPAI 2020 and CEE AMPAI Masters’ 2020 for minority students through the proctored online exam on 18th October 2020 as per guidelines of the Department of Higher Education, Govt of West Bengal, announced in a press conference held at the Park Hotel. Eligible students can appear for the exam from any state of the country. The candidates who could not appear for their respective State Joint Entrance Examination or JEE Main in 2020 will get another chance for pursuing Engineering and Pharmacy through these exams. The last date of applying for both the exams has been decided 14th October, 4 P.M for a fee of Rs 200.  

As per the directions issued by the Supreme Court, CEE AMPAI and CEE AMPAI Masters’ exams have been conducted under five reputed colleges of JIS Group namely JIS College of Engineering (Kalyani), Narula Institute of Technology (Agarpara), Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (Sodepur), Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science & Technology (Sodepur) and Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Degree Engineering College (DumDum) since 2014. These exams will be conducted for admission in 11 subjects of B.Tech and B.Pharm, Eight subjects of M.Tech and three subjects of M.Pharm, MBA and MCA respectively. The total number of seats available for B.Tech and B.Pharm is 722 and for M.Pharm, MBA and MCA, 117.

The first online entrance exam in our state after the pandemic will take place under the observation of Vice-Chancellor of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University Dr. Saikat Maitra, Controller of Examinations and a committee under the Department of Higher Education.  

Due to the early commencement of the State Joint Entrance Exam, students from several states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Tripura, Assam and other states of North-East could not appear for it. “This is one of the major reasons for conducting the exams for providing those candidates with a fair chance to appear, without wasting a year. We are certain about the number of candidates appearing this year”, added the convener of CEE AMPAI Mr. Bidyut Majumdar. Candidates will be able to fill up theapplication form in both online or offline mode. For detailed information and other conditions, students are requested to visit www.ampai.in.

On the other hand, JIS group has also approved fund to the winners of the ‘JIS Idea-O-Meter’,an online crowdfunding initiative introduced first time by any educational institute in Eastern India for its larger community members, where creators can share and gather interest on a particular project, they would like to launch. This initiative was launched in June 2020 to give wings to the next generation entrepreneur within the larger JIS community by putting up their innovative projects online along with their funding goal.
