PUMA continues to be the No. 1 sports brand in India: Records Highest Sales of INR 1413 Crores in 2019
India, February 26, 2020: Global sports brand PUMA continues its dominance in the Indian market. Posting a revenue growth of 23% at INR 1413 crore (as per RoC data), PUMA continues to be the No. 1 sports brand in India. Despite a slowdown that impacted several companies, PUMA recorded strong double-digit growth in the financial year ending December 2019.

The brand’s success is a result of the growing number of consumers across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in India. In addition to this, overall growth of the sportswear market and categories like women’s and kids is driving increased sales for the brand in India.
PUMA first entered India in 2006. Today, the brand has a strong retail presence, operating 373 exclusive stores across the country. In 2019, the brand signed Bollywood actor Sara Ali Khan and a host of sports personalities like cricketer KL Rahul; footballers Sunil Chhetri and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu; Padma Vibhushan awardee Mary Kom and India’s track golden girl, Dutee Chand.
