MOUNTAIN MUSIC FESTIVAL- SEASON ONE
We often say music is all around. The world is filled with innumerable natural sounds. One can consider music as an escape to nature. To fill the magic of world music is very natural surroundings the first season of Mountain Music Festival has been conceived by Sudipta Chanda, a very well known cultural activist and vintage poster collector from our city.
It is an open valley music concert featuring acoustic sound covering a high range of variety in terms of global music. From Tagore to Indian Classical Music, Western popular songs to Fusion, instrumental jugalbandis to retro music and interestingly local music by musicians from hills are part of the grand musical extravaganza. It is all set to happen on 1 March 2020, at Agamlok Titli resort ground ( East Sikkim ). Artistes like Sidhu, Riddhi Bandyopadhyay, Pandit Prodyut Mukherjee, Chandrima Bhattacharya, Ashanti Bakly, Odissi dancer Samarpita Chanda, noted musicians like Shouvik Mukherjee ( Sitar ), Priyanshu Kaushik ( Violin ), Sattyaki Pathak ( Saxophone & English Flute ), Subhra Sankha Sarkar ( Percussion ), Flashback ( Band ), Mrinmoy Bhowmick ( Guitar ), Buddist Monks of Agamlok Monetary and local musicians would perform at the do. A day time event would start at 9 AM onward and expecting more than 300 audiences at the hilltop ground.
It is Kauushik Events, Shyam Sarkar, Carpe Diem and INRECO noted music label is supporting the initiative being associates. Sudipta Chanda says, ” It’s one of my dream ventures after the Kolkata Street Music Festival. Travel and Music go hand in hand. This initiative is meant for them who love to travel with music. I think this concert would open another side of conceptual musicals and would enhance travel and tourism. undoubtedly it’s a medium to hunt hidden talents from various hills who nurture music as they grew up with nature.”
