NSHM Knowledge Campus organised Campus Canvas
Kolkata, 24th September 2019: NSHM School of Creative & Performing Arts- AANGAN one of the Centres of Excellence at NSHM Knowledge Campus organized “Campus Canvas”, a series of workshops to encourage students to express and nurture their creativity. Renowned dancer and choreographer Smt. Tanusree Shankar, wife of world famous music composer Sri. Ananda Shankar and daughter-in-law of Sri. Uday Shankar and Smt. Amala Shankar was present to conduct “Walk to Dance”, a workshop in performing arts for students and enthusiasts.
Needless to say, “Campus Canvas” in the presence of such an eminent personality was a success among the students. The student’s enthusiasm to showcase their talent in front of Smt. Tanusree Shankar was beyond praise. All appreciated the workshop “Walk to Dance” with Smt. Tanusree Shankar and her team. More than 100 students participated in the workshop from schools & colleges across the city. The participants learned various dance techniques followed by a live interactive session with the renowned dance personality. All participants also received participation certificate for their engagement.
Campus canvas was also host to ‘Notes & Beats– Getting More Out of Life’, a musical workshop conducted by Pt. Bickram Ghosh which was an equalling enthralling experience for all attendees. Ms. Hiroka Nagahama conducted a calligraphy workshop which followed a lecture by Mr. Masayuki Taga, Hon’ble Consul General of Japan in Kolkata on the ‘Encounter of Artists and Cultural Exchanges between Japan and Bengal in Early 20th. During these workshops, students got the opportunity to experience hands – on experience in artistic fields ranging from music to dance to calligraphy.
On this note, Mr. Cecil Antony, Chief Mentor & Managing Trustee, NSHM Knowledge Campus further added, “Talent and creativity are assets for an individual development, we at NSHM have always propagated holistic development. We have ensured that our students should receive both practical and theoretical knowledge. Also through events like ‘Campus Canvas’ we look after the creative flair of the students.
