Kaushik and I first saw each other exactly one year ago at Indywood Film Carnival at Hyderabad but it seems like we are friends for ages such a wonderful personality he has.
When I asked about his film over the video call he was passionate about this subject called “Mother”. While his voice was almost chocking and people around were absolute sure about his love and respect for mother.
Down further with the discussion Kaushik Das explains, “ReFraction is about the spiritual connectivity between life and death and the unshakable bond to Mother Nature held by the people who lived the earth thousands of years before us. This story, it’s a story of courage, determination and compassion, where differences are not the enemy and the discovery of each other hearts, leads to the realisation that we are all one.
I’m so pleased to see that ReFraction has received recognition overseas and that through this film, we could showcase internationally one of the most ancient populations of this beautiful country, The Quandamooka people.
The creators of this project received a Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grant and were also supported by the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation (QYAC), Arts Queensland, Redland City Council and the Queensland Government.
Kaushik Das production company, Anjana Productions, has a number of projects slated for 2019 including a film set in his hometown of Kolkata.
Kaushik Das & Mr. Nadira Karunaratne expressed their love for India and also confirmed that India will always be an important place to shoot.
