The Annual SOBA Calcutta Meet was a showcase of how strong their bonds are
Kolkata, 14th June 2017: It was a much awaited day at the Scindia School Old Boys’ Association (SOBA), Calcutta Chapter, for Annual get-together in Kolkata. The event emphasized that the sole difference between young and old was just a matter of age, as the old boys assembled for their reunion. More than 150 Ex-Scidian Boys from 1957 to 2015 were present along with Legendary Scindian from Calcutta Mr. Rati Chand Bothra and Entire SOBA Executive Committee. Mr Rajesh Goenka, Arun k Bhagat, Tuhin Singhi, Raj Chopra, GD Agrawal and entire team of SOBA Calcutta welcomed the Guests with a sense of pride and privilege.
The Scindia School, India’s Top Boarding School, offers a rich variety of activities and opportunities for a multi-dimensional growth, making a Scindian an amiable and affable person. Scindia School Old Boys’ Association, Gwalior, Calcutta Chapter organizes Alumni Get-Together once in 3 months and it is involved in various social activities such as Blood Donation Camp, Tree Plantations, Health Check-ups, Educational Support to name a few. The Association also discussed about the social initiatives for the betterment of the society.
The Annual Get-Together Celebration of Scindia School Old Boys’ Association, Gwalior. Calcutta Chapter was a showcase of how strong their bonds are. The event brought to life the colors of childhood, with cultural programmes. It was a very proud yet nostalgic moment to hear School Song being sung by entire Old Boys present from 1957 to 2015.
Mr Rajesh Goenka, Arun k Bhagat, Tuhin Singhi, Raj Chopra, GD Agrawal and entire team of SOBA Calcutta welcomed the Guests with a sense of pride and privilege. They extended a very warm welcome especially to the elders who made all the efforts to make the moment memorable on the campus. The alumni felt a need to come back as they forged a deep bond during school days which has been retained despite time and distance. It was a novel experience for the boys to watch with awe the presentation in which each and every Old Boy was introduced. It was followed by a musical session which was dedicated to the Association and the cultural evening was presented by the Old Boys Mr. Rajiv Gogia, Pradeep Rungta, Rishabh Jain, Sandeep Agrawal and Binesh Bothra. The entire evening was thoroughly enjoyed by the august gathering.

About The Scindia School: The Scindia School, originally The Sardars’ School, was founded in 1897 by the visionary HH Maharaja Madhavrao Scindia I. The Scindia School, with its unique location, is a notably different residential school. Located atop the magnificent Gwalior Fort it has the city below and the hills across. About: SCINDIA SCHOOL OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION: The 25th day of November in the year One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty-Nine (1959) was when it all started. On this day SCINDIA SCHOOL OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION was registered under the United States of Gwalior, Indore & Malwa (Madhya Bharat) Societies Registration Act of 1950. The Mantle of running the organisation was carried by many illustrious Scindians over the years under the leadership of the Principal Scindia School. As the value of networking was recognised in an increasingly globalised world HH Madhavrao Scindia with his futuristic vision, launched SOBA of the new millennium through our website scindia.edu on 21Oct 2000.
