RICHMOND, Va., March 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — With its 7th new dealership in the last 7 years, Carter Myers Automotive has reason to celebrate the opening of Colonial Subaru just South of Richmond, Va. Members of the local community, including the Chesterfield, Colonial Heights and Petersburg Chambers of Commerce and the President of Subaru of America, Tom Doll, all gathered at the brand new facility to help CMA President and CEO, Liza Borches, cut the ribbon at the Grand Opening Event on Wednesday evening.
No stranger to the local community, CMA has added 38 new jobs with their new dealership and is still hiring. The company now represents 16 automotive brands at 13 locations in the Richmond, Charlottesville and Staunton, Virginia markets.
“It is truly an honor to represent Subaru in Richmond,” said CMA President and CEO, Liza Myers Borches at the event, “In no time at all we have discovered how passionate Subaru customers are about this great product and are very excited about the future.” The state-of-the-art facility easily fit the 100 plus guests at the event, which included a check presentation to local non-profit FeedMore.
The Grand Opening was one of the first events held at the dealership, but will not be the last. Colonial Subaru is hosting a launch party for the new Impreza this Saturday, March 25, featuring Danny Higgins’ #75 Subaru Rally Car. Open to the public, this event will include food, games and prizes starting at 12:00pm.
Carter Myers Automotive (CMA) is a family and employee-owned business that originated in 1902 as Stockdell-Myers Hardware Company in downtown Petersburg, Virginia. The hardware business was liquidated and reincorporated in 1924 as Petersburg Motor Company, Inc. The company now does business as Carter Myers Automotive, named after their first President, H.
