Institutional Strengthening of Gram Panchayats Project (ISGPP) of West Bengal in association with World Bank successfully conducted the “Disclosure Workshop on Environmental and Social System Assessment (ESSA)” at Kolkata with the representative of all stake holding agencies and Districts at Kolkata.

During the meeting and workshop details plan for execution under the guideline of World Bank has been explained to the team. The major focus was on safe on environment and society for development activities. Dos and Don’t list for the ISGPP phase II also explained to the members of the workshop.

This time Phase II of ISGPP will involve all Gram Panchayat of West Bengal including Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad. Total 19 District will be covered which includes 3342 Gram Panchayats with investment of 1450 Cr from World Bank and matching grant of 650 Cr from State Government.

The Director of the Project Mr.S. Purakait told indirect job creation and earning for the people will be there under this Phase II.
