Kolkata, August 14, 2016: The Globsyn Business School Alumni Association organised RETRACE – its inaugural Brand Summit, at the Lake Land Country Club yesterday and today. On this occasion, Dr. Isher Judge Ahluwalia, Chairperson of Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), and Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, former Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Government of India, delivered the Keynote Address and the Iconic Address, respectively.
While addressing the alumni, Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia spoke on the effect of Digital India and digitalisation on the Indian economy, and what young managers should do to keep abreast of this growth.
RETRACE, with the participation of a large number of alumni of Globsyn Business School, was organised with the objective of rekindling the camaraderie with their batch mates, senior and juniors. The event was aimed at bringing all GBS alumni, entrepreneurs and corporates, on the same platform to deliberate on future plans for Globsyn Alumni Engage initiative.
Globsyn Business School believes in learning ‘Beyond Education’. And, it is through such programmes as the Globsyn Alumni Engage, Globsyn Management Conference, Serendipity, EMBRYON, Globsyn Annual Lecture Series and Kalyani Youth Leadership Forum that it spreads the concept of ‘Beyond Education’ among its stakeholders. The Globsyn Management Conference has been designed for academicians, Globsyn Annual Lecture Series is aimed at corporates, Serendipity is a learning experience for its students, EMBRYON nurtures the spirit of entrepreneurship and Kalyani Youth Leadership Forum allows students to ‘care for society’. Similarly, Globsyn Alumni Engage makes an attempt to connect with the 2700+ alumni at a personal level and enable them to play an active role in the governance of the school.
Mr. Bikram Dasgupta, Chairman – Governing Council, Globsyn Business School, said, “Globsyn Business School was started in 2002 with 54 students in the first batch. Today, we have over 2700 alumni working successfully in the corporate world and contributing to the society at large. I am very excited and happy that these youngsters, from diverse batches, have come together to put up an event of such grandeur. With the alumni being one of the most important stakeholders of the school, Globsyn Alumni Engage program launched by them today will not only take the Globsyn Business School brand forward but will also help shape the future of hundreds of youngsters who will be joining the school in the coming years.”
