Bengal believes in secularism and communal harmony: WB CM
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee presided over a felicitation programme organised by the Minority Development Department, called ‘Progotir Pothe,’ to honour achievers from minority communities in various fields.
The programme was held at Netaji Indoor Stadium.
Last year, the Chief Minister had congratulated 26 candidates from minority communities who had qualified in the West Bengal Civil Services. Four hundred minority community students had qualified for MBBS and other achievers were also felicitated.
Highlights of Mamata Banerjee’s speech:
- In India we – Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists – live as a joint family.
- When one member of this joint family is not well, the other members are equally in pain.
- Education will help in the growth of students in Bengal and they will become secular citizens, not fundamentalists.
- When I went to Delhi last week, I told the PM that students are being deprived due to technical problems with the scholarship portal.
- Bengal is number one in distributing scholarships to minority students.
- It is funny how all their advertisements work fine but their portal for scholarships does not.
- Some elements are busy in attacking one religion or the other every day in India.
- In Bengal, we believe in secularism, communal harmony, unity and brotherhood.
- We have distributed scholarships and loans to over one crore students from minority communities during the last five years.
- Aliah University will become an institute of international repute in the days to come.
- We have built 1,31,000 houses for minorities, 400 hostels for minority students.
- We have given loans to five lakh unemployed youths and provided training to 60,000 youths for free.
- We are proud of our Christian community which has set up an excellent education system.
- Christian schools are actively contributing to character-building in a major way in our State.
- We have recognised Santhali, Urdu, Hindi, Gurmukhi and Nepali as second languages.
- We must identify talented young boys and girls and offer all help for them to flourish.
- I request all Trinamool MPs and MLAs to stand by the people in need and to work for their welfare.
- Work is our religion and and through that only can we can achieve success in life.
- Some people want to incite violence in the country. They want to divide us and make us fight against one a other.
- I request all the people in Bengal to be aware of them and not to fall in their traps.
- We belong to the land of peace and knowledge, the land of Rabindranath and Nazrul who stood for unity and peace.
- We believe in equality of all religions. All religious books are our holy books.
- I love to work. You can always share your suggestions and feedback with me.
- I request all teachers to work hard to develop our students. They are our future.
- We want to build a united India.
বাংলা ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতা ও সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতিতে বিশ্বাসীঃ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী
বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে সফল সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের সম্মান প্রদর্শনের জন্য সংখ্যালঘু উন্নয়ন দপ্তর কর্তৃক এক সংবর্ধনা অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করেছে। অনুষ্ঠানের নাম ‘প্রগতির পথে’। পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় আজ এই অনুষ্ঠানে সফল সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের সকলকে সংবর্ধনা জানালেন।
আজ নেতাজী ইনডোরে দুপুর ১ টায় অনুষ্ঠিত হয় এই অনুষ্ঠান।
গত বছর মুখ্যমন্ত্রী WBCS-এ উত্তীর্ণ ২৬ জন সংখ্যালঘুদের অভিবাদন জানিয়েছেন। ৪০০ জন সংখ্যালঘু ছাত্র-ছাত্রী MBBS পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হয়েছে তাদের সকলকে সমাদৃত করেছেন।
আলিয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মহিলাদের জন্য আলাদা করে একটি হস্টেলের শিলান্যাস করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।আগামীদিনে হজ যাত্রীদের জন্য একটি মোবাইল অ্যাপ্লিকেশন চালু করা হল। এর মাধ্যমে হজ যাত্রীরা তাদের অবস্থান থেকে শুরু করে বিমানের সময় সহ আরও নানা বিষয়ে খুব সহজেই জানতে পারবেন। সব মিলিয়ে সংখ্যালঘুদের জন্য রাজ্যের পক্ষ থেকে বিভিন্ন সুবিধা প্রদান করে এক নজির গড়তে চলেছে রাজ্য সরকার।
মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর বক্তব্যের কিছু বিষয়ঃ
- ভারতবর্ষে হিন্দু, মুসলমান, খ্রিষ্টান, শিখ, জৈন, বৌদ্ধ সকলে একসাথে এক পরিবারের মত একসাথে বাস করি
- একসাথে থাকাটাই আমাদের পরম্পরা
- যখন পরিবারের একজন সদস্য সমস্যায় পরে, তখন সেই পরিবারের বাকি সদস্যরাও সমানভাবে সমব্যাথি হন
- শিক্ষা ছাত্রছাত্রীদের জীবনে এগিয়ে যেতে সহায়তা করবে। তারা ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ নাগরিক হবে মৌলবাদী নয়
- গত সপ্তাহে দিল্লিতে আমি প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে স্কলারশিপ পোর্টালের সমস্যার কথা জানাই
- সংখ্যালঘু ছাত্রছাত্রীদের বৃত্তিপ্রদানে এক নম্বরে বাংলা
- কেন্দ্রের বিজ্ঞাপন সবসময় কাজ করে কিন্তু স্কলারশিপ পোর্টাল কাজ করে না
- কিছু মানুষ শুধুই অন্য সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষদের বিরুদ্ধে হিংসা ছড়াচ্ছে
- আমরা ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতা, সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতি, একতায় বিশ্বাস করি
- গত ৫ বছরে ১ কোটি ৭ লক্ষ সংখ্যালঘু সম্প্রদায়ের ছাত্রছাত্রীকে স্কলারশিপ দিয়েছি
- আলিয়া বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় একদিন সারা বিশ্বে সাড়া ফেলবে
- আমরা সংখ্যালঘুদের জন্য ১,৩১,০০০টি বাড়ি এবং ৪০০ টি হোস্টেল তৈরি করে দিয়েছি
- ৫ লক্ষ বেকার যুবককে আমরা লোন দিয়েছি, ৬০০০০ জন কে আমরা বিনামূল্যে ট্রেনিং দিয়েছি
- আমাদের খ্রিস্টান সম্প্রদায়ের শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থার ওপর আমাদের গর্ব হয়
- সমাজনির্মাণের ক্ষেত্রে খ্রিস্টান স্কুলগুলির অবদান বিশাল
- সাঁওতালি, নেপালি, গুরমুখী, হিন্দি, উর্দুকে আমরা দ্বিতীয় ভাষার মর্যাদা দিয়েছি
- তরুণ ছেলে-মেয়েদের প্রতিভাকে খুজে বের করতে হবে তাদের বিকাশের জন্য সব ধরনের সাহায্য করতে হবে
- আমি তৃণমূলের সব সাংসদ ও বিধায়কদের অনুরোধ করেছি মানুশের পাশে থেকে তাদের সব রকমভাবে সাহায্য করতে
- কর্মই আমাদের ধর্ম। কর্মই আমাদের মুক্তি
- কিছু লোক দেশে হিংসা ছড়াতে চাইছে, বিভেদ সৃষ্টি করতে চাইছে। আপনারা ওদের ফাঁদে পা দেবেন না
- আমি বাংলার সকল মানুষকে এই ধরনের লোকের থেকে সাবধানে থাকার অনুরোধ জানাচ্ছি
- বাংলার মাটি শান্তির মাটি, রবীন্দ্র-নজরুলের মাটি। বাংলার মাটি একতার মাটি
- আমরা সর্বধর্মসমন্বয়ে বিশ্বাসী। সব ধর্মীয় গ্রন্থই পবিত্র
- আমি কাজ করতে ভালোবাসি, আপনারা সবসময় আপনাদের মতামত ও প্রস্তাব জানাতে পারেন
- আমি সকল শিক্ষকদের অনুরোধ জানাব শিশুদের বিকাশের জন্য কঠোর পরিশ্রম করতে, কারন শিশুরাই দেশের ভবিষ্যৎ
- আমরা ঐক্যবদ্ধ ভারত গড়তে চাই
