When we requested our team can we have some thing new to our readers in travel section many name came up by what Mr.Debobroto Mazumder our beloved ‘Debu Da’ told a very new and adventures too. Tonglu in Singalila National Park,Darjeeling District in West Bengal,India.

Debu Da took all the pain and enjoyed all the way to do a first hand visit of the location. A true virgin trek route yet can be traveled by any normal person with moderate physical strength.

In a budget around 3000-4000 Rupees per head with a team of 4 you can Start from Kolkata and Return with in 4-5 days of Adventure.

Day 1 – Take train to New Jalpaiguri from Kolkata in the evening

Day 2 – Arrive at New Jalpaiguri Station in the morning have breakfast and head towards Siliguri Bus Terminus, Take shared Jeep / Treker / Bus to Ghum, From Ghum take shared vehicle to Manebhanjan,Again take Jeeep to Dhotrey Village, Stay Night here

Day 3 – 6 KM Trek to Tonglu and  get in to DGHC Rest House stay Over Night

Day 4- Get up early and see Sunrise with lovely Snow Capped Kanchenjungha. Enjoy Breakfast and move through other side to reach Manebhanjan. Take transport to Ghum or Shiliguri, Board the train to Kolkata in the Evening.

Basic Information:

Tonglu (3036 m amsl) is the one of the higher peaks of the Singalila Ridge and a small settlement inside the Singalila National Park in the Darjeeling subdivision, Darjeeling district in the state of West Bengal in India near the India – Nepal border. It is a roadside halt along the trekking route from Manebhanjan to Sandakphu.

It was also known as Tonglo in the 1800s. When Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker carried out many plant hunting expeditions in Darjeeling and Sikkim.
